Health Insurance Benefit Summary

The Alliance Select plan is available to all SPOC covered members and dependents.

Alliance Select is a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) that is administered by Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa. A PPO plan is a plan that contracts with health care service providers (hospitals, doctors, etc.) for reduced fees for each type of service. These savings are passed on to you with lower coinsurance amounts if you use contracted or "network" providers. You may also use "out-of-network" providers (providers who are not contracted with the PPO), but you will pay a higher coinsurance rate. You may elect to apply for either single or family coverage.
