PerkSpot Guidance and Frequently Asked Questions
The Employee Discount Program (EDP) for State of Iowa employees allows you to save money on purchases with discounts on computers, cell phones, hotels, flowers, jewelry, clothing, gifts, restaurants, and more! You will find valuable offers from your favorite merchants, including Apple, Target, Costco, Dell, Disney World, Office Max, Sherwin-Williams, and Verizon. You will also find discounts from local and statewide businesses. For more detailed information, please review PerkSpot Guidance and Frequently Asked Questions document which is intended to assist all employees.
The EDP is administered by PerkSpot, a company that manages employee discount programs for a variety of employers. Most merchant pages on the PerkSpot website (http://iowa.perkspot.com) provide information about how to receive the state employee discount.
Please contact the merchant for any specific questions or concerns and for all customer service functions. Employees and merchants can email comments or suggestions to PerkSpot at help@perkspot.com.
To Get Discounts
| Follow Internet use policies regarding the use of state computers. You should access PerkSpot away from work. |
To take advantage of the EDP, create an account with PerkSpot at http://iowa.perkspot.com using your personal email address. If prompted for a company code, enter Iowa. You will then receive a confirmation email with login instructions.
After you have created your account, you can log in at PerkSpot (http://iowa.perkspot.com) to see all discount offers available to State of Iowa employees. Most discounts at this time are for online purchases only, but as the program evolves and more discounts are added, more on-site discounts may become available. If the discount is accessible online, the merchant page on the PerkSpot website should provide a special link or access code that you can use to obtain a discount.
Merchants’ requirements to receive discounts may vary and can include coupons, flyers, and/or presentation of your State of Iowa Employee ID card. Employees must contact the discount merchant for any proof of employment requirements, typically a pay stub or state ID. Some merchants may include retirees in their offers. If you do not have any identification at the time of purchase, the merchant may not honor the discount.
If you experience any difficulties with any discount or service, please contact PerkSpot by sending an email to help@perkspot.com.
To Suggest a Merchant
Do you have a merchant that you’d like to see added? Go to the PerkSpot website and enter the merchant(s) name in the box on the bottom left side of the page. PerkSpot will contact the merchant that you suggested and will work to add them to the website.
To Become a Merchant
Appropriate merchants can have their business listed simply by offering a discount. Merchants who are interested in participating in the discount program should contact PerkSpot at help@perkspot.com.
