DART Unlimited Access Program
State Employees Can Ride DART For Free!
State of Iowa employees in the Des Moines metro region can now take advantage of DART’s (Des Moines Area Regional Transit) services by simply showing their state of Iowa employee ID.
Getting a DART Unlimited Access Sticker/PassEmployees with a state of Iowa IDFor current employees that did not get a DART ride free sticker prior to August 1, 2008 or new employees hired after August 1st that have a state ID, you can receive a DART sticker at the DAS Customer Service Desk. The location and hours of operations of the DAS Customer Service Desk is: Hoover Building Employees that do not have a state of Iowa picture IDEmployees working ‘off campus’ will receive DART Passes in lieu of photo IDs with stickers. These passes will be distributed through Management Liaisons or Personnel Assistants |

- Reducing the wear and tear on personal vehicles, reducing maintenance costs
- Reducing stress related to driving (including road rage), congestion and parking frustrations, by ensuring a safe, reliable ride to and from work or other destinations
- Improving our environment by reducing green house gases
- increasing the sense of community, by meeting new people, neighbors and community members
Unlimited Access Program
The specific services provided through the Unlimited Access Program are the following:
- All DART local route bus services
- All DART express routes (including Ankeny and Altoona)
- All DART shuttles (on-call routes, link shuttle, etc.)
- Bus Plus Paratransit Service for state of Iowa employees with a disability that prevents them from riding the regular bus.
The program does not provide for the following two services:
- DART-sponsored vanpools
- Special Event Services (Iowa State Fair, Arts Festival, State Wrestling Tournament)
